This section is for the terms used for our services.
* Visitors: those individuals or companies who visit the provider’s website or contact the provider.
* Users: persons who use the services provided by the Provider (OLT) including the customers.
* Participants: those who participate in any project the provider, especially in the clinical research.
* Clients (customers): individuals or organizations who use any service of the provider.
* The Provider: OLT who provides the services.
* Third Party: other than direct participants in the transaction with OLT.
* Services: all the services provided by the provider.
* Translation: translation between Korean and English languages.
* Literal translation: word for word translation.
* Transliteration: replacing one form of alphabet to another form of alphabet without actual translation.
* Transcreation: adaptation from one culture to another, especially for commercial purpose.
* Tautology: an expression or phrase that says the same thing twice, just in a different way. that is, redundant or wordy expression.
* Source text: the original text on which the translation is based.
* Target text: translated text of the source text, that is, the text of target language.
* Collocation: natural or sensible combinations or forms of words or phrases.
* Interpretation service: verval rendering between two different languages.
* Consecutive interpretation: a method of interpretation that takes place after the speaker finishes.
* Simultaneous interpretation: a method of Interpretation that takes place while the speaker is speaking.
* Localization: adaption of the source text to local text to deliver the message, taking in account cultural differences.
* Linguistic validation: process of validating the understanding of the message by the target(local) audience.
* Target audience: specific group of people for whom the translation or localization is intended.
* Clinical trials: experiments or observations done for a clinical study.
* Projects: any undertaking by the provider in which the users and any collaborators participate.
* Patient Reported Outcome(PRO): report of symptoms or effects of medication by participants in a clinical trial.
* After-delivery online support: online support after the delivery of the work.
* Terms of service: binding agreements between the provider and the user or participants.
* Late fee: any compensation born by the user to compensate any delay of the due payment.
* Privacy policy: the binding documents of the provider that deals with the way the provider gathers, uses, discloses and manages the data of the users and the visitors.
1. User rights and responsibilities
♥ It is user’s sole discretion to use the services and website contents provided by the provider (OLT) and the consequences of such use is the user’s sole responsibility.
♥ the user reserves the right to a compensation for any defect or delay of the job within the total sum of the transaction unless agreed otherwise.
♥ the user is liable for a compensation for the payment delay and collection efforts for the unsettled amount, including legal fees .
♥ the specifics of late fees will be negotiated case-by- case and stipulated in the PO or the Terms of Transaction.
2. Provider rights and responsibilities
♥ It is provider’s sole discretion to provide the services and the maximum liability of the provider is limited to the total sum of the services.
♥ the provider should inform the user(customer) any delay or non-delivery of the job as soon as possible should such event occurs or deems to occur, and take appropriate measures to mend the situation as soon as possible.
♥ the provider has the right to a compensation for payment delay and collection efforts for the delayed payment, including legal fees.
3. Intellectual property
♥ the provider should make best effort to protect the intellectual property of the user.
♥ the provider should not take advantage of the user’ intellectual property without prior written consent.
♥ the procedure and know-how employed by the provider is property of the provider.
♥ the provider and the user should not infringe on third party’s intellectual property.
4. Confidentiality
♥ all the information of the user and the provider that is known to each other for the services should be held confidential for 5 years at least, unless agreed otherwise.
♥ If the provider and the user should notify each other if is obliged to submit any confidential information by the law or other legal enforcement agency.
5. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
♥ total liability of the provider is limited to the total sum of the transaction.
♥ the provider is not responsible for force majeure such as inevitable illness or any Act of God.
♥ the user and the provider should make their best efforts to minimize harm each other in case of any dispute.
♥ the provider does not take any responsibility for the use of its services by the user.
6. Dispute and jurisdiction
♥ both the provider and the user should make their best efforts to avoid any dispute between them.
♥ inevitable disputes should be resolved expeditiously through third party arbitrary process first.
♥ competent court is Seoul District Court.
7. Change or Modification of the terms.
♥ the provider can change, modify or complement the terms without notification.
When it comes to localization, it is hard to produce a good result without voluntary participation of concerned parties. So it should be a team effort. And our team consists of the user,participant and the provider.
As there is saying that ‘honesty is the best policy’ , it is essential to have straight communication, we believe. Our privacy policy is about our team with some addition for visitors. Welcome your suggestions.
1. The collection of personal or identifiable information of the participants and the users will be minimal in the first place. And this is especially relevant to the participants in clinical trials or other medical projects.
2. Prior informed consent will be sought for from all the related parties for for the collection of personal, identifiable or sensitive information.
3. The use of personal, identifiable or sensitive information will be limited to the relevant project and parties only.
4. Collected information will be kept in secure place as anonymously as possible and necessary measures will be taken for its protection.
5. Holding period of personal, identifiable or sensitive data will be as brief as necessary for the project or and the related.
6. The same level of security measures as for the direct parties will be required from any third party if provision of such information to the third party is necessary for the project. For example, signing Non-Disclosure Agreement with all the parties concerned including all the third parties.
7. The provider takes necessary measures to comply with the applicable laws or regulations.
8. If the provider have to submit the collected information by the law or regulatory agency, the provider will notify the party concerned as soon as possible.
9. Use of Cookies of the visitors will be limited to the purpose of the services.
10. The provider is not responsible for the user’s visit to other websites by the links on the provider’s website.
11. Provider can modify, change or complement the Privacy policy as necessary, without notification.
